philosophy

Positiveflow is a design and research group based in Milan, which focuses on giving - through design projects - a visible and clear identity to energy in order to promote a more conscious use of energy for a sustainable future.

In the face of today's energy stakes, how is one to adopt a more thrifty and reasoned attitude whilst electricity is such an intangible and invisible element in the home? Positiveflow uses design as a tool to give, in our infrastructure, a more intelligible identity to energy.

We live in a society in which we have a passive relation with our needs for energy and demand, Positiveflow wants to change this attitude, to permit more participation, to design new ecologically aware artefacts and services, to promote best practices, with attention to innovation, aesthetics and playability.

Positiveflow works on different scales: from temporary site-specific installation to long-term projects which strive for re-designing energy flows through a product service system.

Positiveflow maintains a stance as a mediator between energy production and consumption. We design projects that focus on full circle communication with a strategic perspective. We use scenarios to make complexity simple and communicate projects to actors outside technical or focused groups. Our collective competences work in diverse sectors of design (interaction, product, interior, strategy) and social research.

Ever since 2004 Positiveflow has been creating events, agitating opinions in market sectors and promoting new attitudes in energy habits.
